Newport News Public Schools to hear recommendations for new superintendent

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Newport News Public Schools will hold a special meeting Thursday regarding a new superintendent.

According to the agenda, leaders will meet at 5:30 p.m. for a recommendation to appoint a new division superintendent.

School board leaders voted to fire the previous superintendent, Dr. George Parker III, following the Jan. 6 shooting at Richneck Elementary.
