NORFOLK, Va. - Not ready to give up the holidays just yet? There's still time to check out one of the area's newest light shows.

WinterFest on the Wisconsin features 250,000 lights aboard the historic Battleship Wisconsin at Downtown Norfolk's Nauticus Museum. It runs through Thursday, December 31.

The first-year event replaced the annual Dickens Christmas Towne, which was canceled this year due to COVID-19 concerns.

The museum marketed the show as something you can't get anywhere else. After opening in late November, organizers tell News 3 year one went better than they could have hoped.

"It has just been amazing to have everyone come down in a safe way and enjoy the battleship and all Nauticus has to offer, so we're excited WinterFest will be coming to Norfolk again next year," said Rehn West, Development Director for Nauticus museum.

To fall in line with COVID-19 protocols, the museum required WinterFest visitors to wear masks. A limited number of tickets were sold for designated times each evening the event was open.

West says many of the time slots sold out and most are already sold out for the show's last week.
