A new system has formed in the tropics. Tropical Storm Rafael is near Jamaica, but it is expected to move towards the Cayman Islands on Tuesday night and western Cuba on Wednesday.
The storm is forecast to transition from steady to rapid intensification over the next 24 to 36 hours.
Once Rafael is in the northwestern Caribbean near the Cayman Islands, it may become a hurricane and strengthen further before landing in Cuba.
