Army's Fires Conference goes virtual this year

FORT SILL, Okla. - An annual meeting of the Army's Fires Force has gone virtual this year thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The virtual Fires Conference originating from Fort Sill in Oklahoma kicked off Tuesday.

It features conversation on large-scale combat operations with Generals Paul Funk, and James Dickinson, as well as Sergeant Major of the Army Michael Grinston.

The conference focuses on field artillery and air defense artillery operations.

Recent Army modernization priorities include naming long range precision fires and air and missile defense.

The virtual Fires Conference wraps up Thursday.
