HAMPTON, Va. — An aircraft crash was reported at Langley Air Force Base on Thursday, a base official confirmed to WTKR News 3.
The National Transportation Safety Board says they are "investigating the crash of an experimental MX Aircraft MXS." Based on initial gatherings, the plane crashed while "on approach" to Langley Air Force Base.
An MX Aircraft MXS is a single-seat stunt plane that is commonly used in air shows.

There's no confirmed details on injuries or, a cause, or damage to any aircraft.
This crash happened days before the biennial Air Power Over Hampton Roads air show – however, officials have not confirmed whether this crash is connected to the upcoming event.

Famed stunt pilot Rob Holland, who flies the MX Aircract MXS, is scheduled to perform at the air show this weekend. Flight tracking website FlightAware.com has a log depicting Holland's flight from Nashville (KBNA) to Langley (KLFI), landing at 11:31 a.m.
Holland is the only performer scheduled in the MX Aircraft MXS this weekend, though officials have not confirmed it is his plane that crashed.
First responders are currently on the scene. The incident is under investigation, an official told News 3.
Hampton Police, reached by phone, said they were not aware of the incident.
