PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Police are investigating after a man was killed by gunfire Thursday night.
Police said that around 11:28 p.m., several reports of shots being fired were called in from the 1900 block of Redgate Drive.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man that was suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. Medics arrived and pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
On Tuesday morning officials said the victim was identified as 25-year-old Karlsten Baines.
Detectives say they are continuing to actively investigate this shooting incident and ask that anyone with information about this case to call the Crime Line.
