Man identified after being shot, killed in Norfolk on Norchester Avenue: Police

NORFOLK, Va. — Detectives are continuing to investigate a shooting that left a man dead.

On April 29, around 4:50 a.m., police responded to the 1400 block of Norchester Avenue for the report of a gunshot victim.

When officers arrived, they found a man, which police later identified as Jabari C. Smith,18, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the shooting happened in the 3300 block of E. Princess Anne Road.

There are no further details to release at this time.
