A 17-year-old boy has died after a shooting in the 600 block of E. Moreell Circle early Friday evening.
The shooting happened in the Ben Moreell Lincoln Military Housing community near Naval Station Norfolk.
Around 5:15 p.m., police responded to the area for a report of a gunshot victim. Officers arrived to find the teen suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
The teen was taken to Sentara General Norfolk Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives are investigating his death as a homicide.
When News 3 arrived on scene, forensics was gathering evidence. Investigators also spent some time searching a silver SUV.
