Man injured in Chesapeake shooting; police looking into whether additional reports of gunshots are related

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - A 30-year-old man is in the hospital after a shooting in the South Norfolk area of Chesapeake Wednesday night.

At 8:24 p.m., Chesapeake Police responded to the area of Border Road and Cleona Drive for reports of gunshots heard in the area. When they arrived on scene, they found the man, who had been shot. He was immediately taken to a local hospital for further treatment for his injuries.

While still on scene, officers began receiving more reports that gunshots had been fired in the area of Campostella Road and Border Road.

Police are still currently on scene at both locations and are trying to determine whether the incidents are related.

The area of Border Road and Cleona Drive is currently closed while the investigation is ongoing.

There is no suspect description available at this time.
