CHESAPEAKE, Va. - A man is in custody after a barricade situation in Chesapeake Tuesday afternoon.
Police say they went to the 1900 block of Yucca Street around 1:55 p.m., to serve a search warrant for narcotics.
Police say they were in contact with other residents, however one man barricaded himself inside a room, refusing to come out.
According to police, residents informed officials that a child was in the same room as the barricaded man.
The Chesapeake Police SWAT team and Negotiation team assisted with the incident.
Around 3:49 p.m., the situation was resolved and a man was taken into custody without any incidents.
Police are still investigating and say there are several charges pending against man.
