Man dies following stabbing in Newport News; Police arrest suspect

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - A man died Saturday night after a stabbing in Newport News.

According to the Newport News Police Department, officers were called to the 100 block of Debbie Lane at 10:25 p.m. in reference to a stabbing. When they arrived, they found the victim, later identified as 49-year-old Daniel Sean Page, with multiple stab wounds.

Page died on the way to the hospital as a result of his injuries.

After further investigation, police said a warrant was obtained charging 53-year-old Charles Toy Ashley.

Ashley was arrested around 2 a.m. November 1, the 300 block of Denbigh Boulevard.

He has been charged with one count second-degree murder, according to police.
