NORFOLK, Va. – A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning, the Norfolk Police Department said.

According to police, around 12:30 a.m., officers responded to the 5700 block of Chesapeake Boulevard for the crash. When they arrived, they found the driver, later identified as 33-year-old Clayton Fisher, suffering from serious injuries he received in the crash.

Fisher was pronounced dead at the scene.

The preliminary information has revealed Fisher lost control of his Chevrolet Silverado and hit a tree, causing his vehicle to overturn.

Investigators say both speed and alcohol appear to have been contributing factors to the crash.
