Victim identified after fatal Newport News stabbing

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The man who died from his injuries after being stabbed in Newport News early Sunday morning has been identified as 39-year-old Marcus Markee Griffin, of the 900 block of Daphia Circle.

According to the Newport News Police Department, the call for the stabbing came in at about 12:36 a.m. Officers responded to the 100 block of Impala Drive, where they found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died at the hospital, police said.

The location of where the stabbing occurred, the circumstances of the incident and suspect information are all unknown at this time, and the investigation is still ongoing.
