SUFFOLK, Va. - Police have arrested a man accused of robbing a Suffolk convenience store early Thursday evening.
The call for a robbery at the Miller Mart in the 1500 block of Holland Road came in at 6:06 p.m.
Police say the suspect, a man, went into the store, forced himself behind the counter and physically confronted the female clerk while implying he had a weapon.
He fled on foot after taking an undetermined amount of currency and alcohol.
After police's investigation, Charles Leroy Griffin Jr., 28, of Suffolk was arrested on charges including Robbery, Larceny, and Assault & Battery. He was also arrested on outstanding charges including Contempt of Court and Failure to Appear on Misdemeanor Charge.
Griffin was taken to the Western Tidewater Regional Jail after he was arrested.
