HAMPTON ROADS, Va. - Lidl US launched a new program this week to help seniors in Virginia Beach, Hampton, Norfolk and Chesapeake get needed grocery store items without leaving their home.
A Lidl food truck plans to make special deliveries without any service fees to several retirement communities in the area.
Senior customers can order Lidl’s products delivered to them by calling 1-866-GET-LIDL (1-866-438-5435) anytime between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. A dedicated team of shoppers will deliver the groceries to the front desk of the retirement communities within two days. Attached is a flyer listing all the products.
Lidl says they're committed to protecting the health and safety of customers and decided to use the food truck, which has been sitting idle, to help those at high risk for severe illness. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that older adults, 65 years and older, stay home during the COVID-19 outbreak.
