VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - After months spent mostly at home, it can be hard to come up with new activities for your kids.
The Virginia Beach Public Library is making it easy, though, with a whole range of virtual programming.
Throughout the week they have live events taking place online, including story time for the little ones and art and science programming for older kids.
"With the platform we use, families can engage with the story presenter and ask questions, so it's as close to being together as we can get for the time being," said Katie Cerqua, Youth and Family Services Manager at the library.
For activities like art projects that may require certain supplies, you can pick up a kit from the library with everything you need after registering.
Their science programs cover a whole range of topics, from aerodynamics to the science of teeth.
"For that one our presenter has been soaking eggs in different liquids for the past month so the kids can see how coffee would stain a tooth compared to if you have a sugar water solution," said Cerqua.
If the live events don't work for your schedule, they also have a number of on-demand programs you can watch with your kids on YouTube.
