Correction: A previous version of this article stated the charges were in connection to a hit and run. That is incorrect, and police said the driver stayed at the scene after the crash. News 3 regrets the error.

A man is facing charges in connection to a deadly crash involving a car and a bicyclist on Princess Anne Road, police say.

Rodney Coleman, 48, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, reckless speed, and numerous other traffic offenses.

Police say the crash happened on Feb. 20 around 6:40 p.m. The preliminary investigation indicates that Coleman was driving eastbound on Princess Anne Road when he collided with a man on a bicycle traveling southbound across the road, according to police.

The impact threw the bicyclist into the roadway and he died at the scene, police say. The bicyclist was identified by police as 23-year-old James Beckles IV.

Coleman did stop at the scene of the crash, police say.
