SUFFOLK, Va. — The countdown is on for the National Night Out—it's slated for Aug. 1.
Tuesday night, the City of Suffolk held a community kick-off event with people gathering at City Hall.
The purpose of the National Night Out is for everyone to join together to say "no" to crime.
Tuesday's event was to offer city support to community groups who plan to host National Night Out events in August.
