PORTSMOUTH, Va. — A man died after he was shot on Maple Avenue in Portsmouth Monday night, according to Portsmouth police.
Police say the shooting happened in the 1400 block of Maple Avenue just before 7:30 p.m. There, police say they found a man who had been shot.
The man was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, according to police. He died at the hospital, police say.
The man has been identified by police as Carlton Jermaine Sherrod Jr.
