PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Police in Portsmouth said they were investigating after an overnight shooting left one man dead.
Officers said they responded to a call in the 20 block of Dale Drive at around 1:20 a.m., Saturday.

On the scene, officers said they found a man suffering an apparent life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim, 33-year-old Modrelle Britt, was then pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the incident was still under investigation.
