OUTER BANKS, N.C. — According to the Cape Hatteras National Seashore there are four sea turtle nests incubating there, marking the sixth highest number of nests laid.
The seashore says this marks an average overall season as over 19,200 eggs have successfully hatched at Cape Hatteras.
They project next season for more nests to be laid as the trend has been steadily moving upward.
