NORFOLK, Va. — A Norfolk house caught fire Thursday night, displacing seven residents.
Norfolk Fire was called to 1349 Llewellyn Ave around 7:04 p.m. as a result of a residential fire.
No one was home but when residents arrived, four adults and three children were displaced from their home.

Neighbors who live on Llewellyn Avenue in the Ghent neighborhood say it is a tight-knit Jewish community. They say the family who lived in the house that caught on fire was Jewish.
News 3's Leondra Head spoke to Rabbi Levi Brashevitzky, a Norfolk Rabbi. Brashevitzky knows the family who was impacted in the fire and says they are in his prayers.
"I was in touch with the family. It’s important to remember that we are here for each other and focus on how to rebuild," Brashevitzky said.

"How is the family doing?" News 3's Head asked Brashevitzky. "The family, thank God, is okay. This is still setting in for them and they have support from the community," Brashevitzky said.
One neighbor says the fire is heartbreaking.
"It’s devastating to have a family with so many children have their house destroyed by a fire. But fortunately they weren’t home at the time and everyone is okay," Christopher said.

Christopher, a neighbor who only shared his first name says he believes the family was out celebrating Hanukkah when the fire happened.
"Last night, they were celebrating the Hanukkah celebration of light. I heard that some of the Hanukkah candles might have caused the fire," Christopher said.
There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
