NORFOLK, Va. — A man is hospitalized following a shooting in Norfolk early Sunday morning.
According to police, the incident happened around 1:15 a.m. in the 5300 block Greenplain Road, where a man was found shot. He was immediately rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police say and he may not survive.
News 3's Kelsey Jones went to the neighborhood where the shooting happened and spoke with neighbors who say they're fed up with gun violence.
" I heard the car take off and all I heard was boom, boom boom! They kept going" said a long time resident who lives on Greenplain road.
He added he's thankful no bullets riddled his home, after hearing gunshots back to back. However he told our reporter he would like to see more of a police presence in the early morning hours canvassing the area following this shooting, along with stricter gun laws.
"What can you do? you cant do nothing about it. It's up to the administration all them, they have to do something about the gun laws, it's getting worse."
Police did not release any other details and the investigation is ongoing.
