Man dead, another injured after Hampton shooting; police open homicide investigation

HAMPTON, Va. — A man is dead and another is injured following a shooting in Hampton Wednesday afternoon, police say.

Police say officers were send to the 1500 block of North King Street just after 4 p.m. after getting a call about a shooting. There, officers found two men who had been shot.

Both men were taken to the hospital, police say. One of them died from their injuries in the hospital.

The other man is expected to survive, police say.

Police have not named a suspect at this time. However, police are investigating the incident as a homicide and are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect.
