The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving coronavirus cases within the state.
According to their website, there are now 89,888 total cases, 86,501 of which are confirmed and 3,387 are probable. There are 2,174 total coronavirus related deaths, with 2,067 being confirmed and 107 being probable.
The case numbers are up by 984, and deaths are up by 33 since Thursday. Hampton Roads and its surrounding cities saw 403 new cases, 16 additional hospitalizations and 6 deaths from Thursday.
A total of 1,107,360 PCR tests have now been given in Virginia.
The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Friday, there are 885 people currently being hospitalized for coronavirus. There are 449 people currently receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are pending. 279 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.
145 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 637 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 3,062 in the state - that's 21% usage.
11,937 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.
