VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - A Virginia Beach woman who helps others in need during hard times of her own was surprised by Ellen DeGeneres!
Rickkita Taylor got the ultimate surprise on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that aired Friday.
Taylor was furloughed at the start of the pandemic, and even though she is struggling financially herself, she supports her nonprofit Sisters Healing Sisters to help others in need. She explained to Ellen why she decided to start the nonprofit and how it empowers and educates women in need.
After hearing Taylor's dedication to helping others, Ellen kept the surprises coming by giving her $10,000 for Sisters Healing Sisters and an additional $10,000 for her family, courtesy of Shutterfly!
The amazing gift was revealed during the show, which aired on News 3 at 3 p.m.
