MEDFORD, N.Y. - Tired of hearing about nothing other than the coronavirus? Canine Companions for Independence has come up with the perfect way to take your mind off the pandemic - a live puppy cam!

Every day between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. for the next few weeks, the nonprofit will live stream a litter of yellow Labrador-Golden Retriever mix puppies. You can watch them as they eat, sleep, play and grow.

"The litter is being cared for at a Canine Companions staff member’s home near the national headquarters in Santa Rosa, California," said John Bentzinger, Northeast Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator for Canine Companions.

Canine Companions for Independence is a nonprofit organization that provides highly trained assistance dogs to those with disabilities, including veterans and children, for free.

Even amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the nonprofit's mission is still in motion, and there are more than 400 people with disabilities waiting to be matched with an expertly-trained assistance dog. To become an assistance dog with Canine Companions, it takes nearly two years of hard work and love, starting at the very beginning as adorable puppies.

You can watch the live stream here.
