YORK Co., Va. - Two local brothers are continuing to give back to their community.

Jeffrey and Sabion Beyon, who won one of our People Taking Action awards in July for sewing masks for healthcare workers, hosted a food drive Saturday for the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank.

The brothers spoke to News 3 about why they wanted to help the food bank and the Hampton Roads community during this holiday season.

“Because we're a part of this community, and we thought that since we are part of this we need to do something about it. So, it's basically an extension of us,” they said.

So far, the brothers have sewn more than 1,500 masks.

They also donated more than 350 pounds of food before Thanksgiving after a couple of drives last month.
