NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk Fire Department responded to a residence fire that left tenants in four units displaced Tuesday night.
Norfolk Fire officials say a call came in around 10:53 p.m., regarding a fire at 1122 Redgate Aveneue.
A resident says they heard an explosion, according to officials.
Norfolk Fire Department says the fire extended from the back of the building to the attic space, taking around 40 minutes to get the fire under control.
Gas supply was the cause of the fire, according to officials.
Officials say no injuries were reported.
Four units within the home were affected by the fire and one unit suffered majority of the damage. Officials say all utilities had to be turned off indefinitely for all units.
All tenants in the four units were displaced.
American Red Cross is assisting all tenants who were displaced.
