HAMPTON ROADS, Va. - With these challenging times – many big corporations are helping its customers to ease some of the stress.

Dominion Energy is one of those companies who is helping out by not disconnecting anyone's power. The company is also giving a few tips on how to keep your bill low.

Although, Dominion Energy is helping out – it’s important to know - you are still responsible for paying for any power you use.

After things settle down - Dominion Energy employees say they'll work with people on a case by case basis to get bills paid. In the meantime - there are some things you can do to keep your costs down.

Nearly half the energy you use goes to heating and cooling - so that's one of the biggest areas you should watch.

The company suggests you open windows and use fans. Dominion Energy worker Matt Adams says to make sure you change out your filters monthly since dust gets trapped in them over time.

Dominion Energy also suggests cooking on the grill when you can to keep your home cool and avoid extra electricity.

And with more people home - especially the kids - try to limit how much time everyone is spending on electronics.
