PORTSMOUTH, Va. — A woman is dead following a shooting in Portsmouth Tuesday night and police are looking for a person of interest.

Around 6:45 p.m., officers found a woman injured in the 3000 block of Portsmouth Boulevard, police say.

Police believe her injuries were the result of a shooting, which involved a car crash.

The woman was taken to the hospital, but she didn't survive, police say. Police have identified her as 30-year-old Yolanda Jackson.

Investigators are looking for a man named Antonie Danielle Speight as a person of interest in her death, according to a release from Portsmouth police.

Police say he was last seen driving a Honda Crossover with Virginia tags TRV-9877.

Anyone with information about the incident should reach out to the Portsmouth Police Investigations Bureau at 757-393-8536 or submit an anonymous tip to the Crime Line at 1–888-LOCK-U-UP, *TIPS (**8477), the "P3 Tips" app or their website. Police say that tipsters are never asked to give their names or required to testify in court and if a tip leads to an arrest or the recovery of stolen drugs or property, the caller could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000.
