The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving COVID-19 cases within the state.
According to their website, there are now 204,637 total cases, 185,525 of which are confirmed and 19,112 are probable. There are 3,806 total COVID-19 related deaths, with 3,533 being confirmed and 273 being probable. The case numbers are up by 2,677, and deaths are up by 6 since Sunday.
The case increase from Sunday to Monday was the single highest day increase in Virginia since the start of the pandemic.
A total of 2,938,133 COVID-19 PCR tests have now been given in Virginia.
The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Monday, there are 1,071 people currently being hospitalized, confirmed with COVID-19. There are 266 people receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are still pending. Combined, there are a total of 1,337 being hospitalized for coronavirus related illness. That's 53 more hospitalizations from Sunday.
The total statewide COVID-19 hospitalizations that have been reported over time is now 13,552.
263 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.
118 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 802 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 2,962 in the state - that's 27% usage.
22,362 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.
Virginia Beach had the largest one-day rise in the area on Monday with 220 new COVID-19 cases. That is the highest one day rise in cases for the city since July.
