The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving coronavirus cases within the state.
According to their website, there are now 87,993 total cases, 84,700 of which are confirmed and 3,293 are probable. There are 2,125 total coronavirus related deaths, with 2,020 being confirmed and 105 being probable.
The case numbers are up by 999, and deaths are up by 30 since Tuesday.
Norfolk reported the highest local daily increase of 123 cases from Tuesday. Locally, there were 425 new cases, 13 additional hospitalizations and 7 deaths counted for in Wednesday's number.
The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Wednesday, there are 866 people currently being hospitalized for coronavirus. There are 484 people currently receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are pending. Combined, there are 1,350 people currently being hospitalized for illness related to coronavirus.
276 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.
155 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 668 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 3,043 in the state - that's 22% usage.
11,650 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.
