The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving coronavirus cases within the state.
According to their website, there are now 102,521 total cases, 98,374 of which are confirmed and 4,147 are probable. There are 2,352 total coronavirus related deaths, with 2,238 being confirmed and 114 being probable.
The case numbers are up by 776, and deaths are up by 8 since Tuesday. Half of those deaths were reported in our viewing area and roughly 26% of local cases made up Virginia's total case increase.
A total of 1,283,409 PCR tests have now been given in Virginia.

The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Wednesday, there are 884 people currently being hospitalized for confirmed coronavirus. There are 397 people receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are still pending. Combined, there are a total of 1,281 being hospitalized for coronavirus related illness. That's 12 less hospitalizations from Tuesday.
The total statewide COVID-19 hospitalizations that have been reported over time is now 8,532.
290 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.
142 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 610 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 3,074 in the state - that's 20% usage.
13,247 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.
