ISLE OF WIGHT, Va. - Isle of Wight County School officials released an update this week on returning to in-person learning.

In-person continuum students will return to hybrid learning beginning Tuesday, January 19.

Officials said these two weeks of remote learning after winter break provided a self-imposed quarantine period for employees and students.

Officials said, "While numbers in the community may be high, those numbers do not correlate to the percent positivity in schools. Those numbers have been very low due to the mitigation measures in place in all of our buildings and offices and we have experienced no spread among students. We will also continue to monitor neighboring divisions who, like IWCS, have conducted in-person learning since September, to see if their experiences are similar to ours."

Isle of Wight Schools reminded residents to wear masks, watch spacing and wash hands.
