Coronavirus numbers in Virginia continue to trend down ahead of Phase Three

The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving coronavirus cases within the state.

According to their website, there are now 59,946 total cases, 57,384 of which are confirmed and 2,562 are probable. There are 1,675 total coronavirus related deaths, with 1,572 being confirmed and 103 being probable. The case numbers are up by 432, and deaths are up by 14 since Wednesday.

The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association also updated their numbers. As of Thursday, there are 551 people currently being hospitalized for coronavirus. There are 303 people currently receiving inpatient hospital care whose test results are pending. 237 confirmed positive patients, and those whose test results are pending, are currently hospitalized in the ICU.

104 hospital patients, both confirmed for coronavirus, and those with test results pending, are currently on a ventilator. 589 ventilators are being used in hospitals out of the 2,993 in the state - that's 20% usage.

7,818 patients who have been hospitalized for coronavirus have been discharged.

  • Chesapeake 800 cases, 116 hospitalized, 16 deaths (+8 cases from Wednesday)
  • Accomack 1,037 cases, 70 hospitalized, 14 deaths (+3 cases, +1 hospitalization from Wednesday)
  • Northampton 269 cases, 39 hospitalized, 28 deaths (+0 cases, +1 hospitalization from Wednesday)
  • Hampton 281 cases, 38 hospitalized, 5 deaths (+5 cases from Wednesday)
  • Norfolk 795 cases, 95 hospitalized, 8 deaths (+24 cases, +2 hospitalizations, +1 death from Wednesday)
  • James City County 248 cases, 58 hospitalized, 15 deaths (+1 case, +1 hospitalization from Wednesday)
  • Newport News 466 cases, 44 hospitalized, 10 deaths (+3 cases from Wednesday)
  • Poquoson 16 cases, 2 hospitalized, 0 deaths (+0 cases from Wednesday)
  • Williamsburg 55 cases, 12 hospitalized, 6 deaths (+1 case, +1 hospitalization, +1 death from Wednesday)
  • York County 106 cases, 10 hospitalized, 3 deaths (+0 cases from Wednesday)
  • Portsmouth 442 cases, 67 hospitalized, 16 deaths (+16 cases, +1 hospitalization from Wednesday)
  • Gloucester 46 cases, 9 hospitalized, 1 death (+1 cases from Wednesday)
  • Virginia Beach 1,053 cases, 118 hospitalized, 27 deaths (+15 cases from Wednesday)
