Accomack Co. Public Schools employee tests positive for COVID-19, meal program closed at one school

ACCOMACK Co., Va. - An Accomack County Public Schools employee has tested positive for COVID-19.

W.C.Holland, Superintendent of Accomack County Public Schools, announced Monday that the meal program at Kegotank Elementary School will be closed for two weeks.

An employee tested positive for COVID-19, the superintendent said.

The other school sites with meal programs will remain open.

Beginning April 15, Food Service distribution changed to two days a week, Monday and Wednesday.

On Mondays, they are serving two meals and on Wednesdays, three meals from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the designated schools.

Distribution sites include Chincoteague Elementary School, Arcadia High School, Metompkin Elementary School, Tangier Combined School, Accawmacke Elementary School, Pungoteague Elementary School and Nandua Middle School.

All students may pick up a meal from any of the locations listed. Meals will be served in a drive-up style at the entrance of the cafeteria at each of the designated feeding sites. Children must be present and meals must be consumed off-site.
