OUTER BANKS, N.C. - Rumors began circulating online Wednesday, saying that Governor Northam had been visiting his home in the Outer Banks despite current visitation restrictions.
Northam's staff spoke with News 3, stating that he has "absolutely not" been to his home on the island.
A Facebook post that has now gone viral stated that numerous people in Dare County had seen or heard about Northam going to and from his vacation home on a regular basis.
In the post, it lists the governor's address to his vacation home, videos of that home and other details in regards to suspicions that Northam has been there.
A neighbor of Northam reached out to News 3 to say that people are now taking and sharing pictures of her home and cars online. She wishes to remain anonymous but wants to express her discomfort about the situation.
The governor himself has yet to respond, but his staff continues to emphasize that he has not been at his vacation home.
