VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - As Tropical Storm Ian threatens the Florida coast, a local group of first responders is getting ready to respond if called upon and drive more than 10 hours to bring supplies and equipment to Georgia, as Ian inches closer to the Florida coast.

That also includes communication equipment to the command staff who are working to organize search and rescue efforts. This involves supplies like phones, projectors, and computers that will help with tactical and strategic planning of relief operations. Sullivan also tells News 3 dogs will join them to help find people who are trapped.
"We're well prepared and well represented and we will do our best to help anybody and everybody we can" said Sullivan.
Sullivan said they will stay for 7-14 days but if they're needed longer they will not leave until the mission is complete.
