Still waiting for your stimulus check?

If you don't find one in your bank account in the next week, you could be waiting a while for that $1,200 in stimulus money.

Individuals without direct deposit of their tax refunds will have to wait for a paper check in the mail, which could take as long as three months to arrive, according to the IRS.

However, as of Wednesday, April 15, the IRS now has a link to track the status of your money, and to enter your bank account information to speed up delivery if you were due to receive yours in the mail.

Remember that the IRS is sending stimulus checks to the last address or bank account of yours that received a tax refund.

Check status and speed up your refund if you are getting it by mail

If you are expecting a direct deposit of your stimulus, you can now check on the status of your money here.

Caution: The site may be overloaded, so you may have to keep checking back.

If the IRS typically mails you a refund, you will receive your stimulus by mail sometime between now and August, according to the government.

Many people do not want to wait that long. So, the IRS has just opened a portal where you can enter bank account information. That way, you do not have to wait weeks for it to arrive in the mail.

People who don't normally file

If you are someone who normally does not file taxes (due to low income), the IRS now has a section on its website where you can enter your name, address, Social Security number, and bank account information. That way you will soon receive your check. CLICK HERE to learn more.

People on Social Security or disability

If you are on Social Security or disability, you do not have to do anything, even if you do not file taxes. The check will come to your address or bank account that receives your normal monthly check (see above).

Moved since your last refund?

The IRS website has a separate section to enter your new information, so the check doesn't go to your old address. CLICK HERE to learn more .

People who get their refund on TurboTax or H&R Block debit cards

Many filers now receive refunds on debit cards. Check with your preparer (such as H&R Block) to see if your card from last year will get the stimulus money loaded. Rules vary.

As always, don't waste your money.
