Marc Davis

Sports Director

Marc Davis knew he wanted to work in television since he would mute the TV and pretend to commentate sporting events as a kid. Decades, later, he says he’s living his dream.

Marc joined the News 3 team as Sports Director in September of 2021, bringing 17 years of television experience. Most recently, he spent 10 years in Richmond at WWBT NBC12, where he covered numerous events and teams, including a Major League Baseball All-Star Game, a World Series and a Final Four.

Prior to his time in the state capital, Marc led the sports department at WCAV CBS19 and WVAW ABC16 in Charlottesville, covering all things UVA.

His career began in Harrisburg, PA, where he served as a news photojournalist at WHP CBS21.

Marc’s favorite sports are baseball, college basketball and football. He hails from East Petersburg, PA, and graduated in 2004 with a degree in journalism from Shippensburg University. While he enjoys covering the games and big events, his favorite part of the job is uncovering and telling impactful and inspirational stories involving local athletes.

When he’s not on the sports beat, you’ll find Marc spending time with his family and trying to get outside. He resides in Virginia Beach and has two daughters, Ella and Preslie. Marc is very excited to become part of the Hampton Roads community and share meaningful stories and sports news with the viewers he serves.
