NORFOLK, Va. - When Phase One of reopening began in Virginia, Cogans Pizza on Colley Avenue in Norfolk opened up its second-floor outdoor dining area and added toilet paper to the menu.

The pizzeria continues to make pizzas for its customers for carry-out, delivery, and dine-in.

Cogans also has specials going on such as $10 cheese or pepperoni pies, $5 lunch boxes and toilet paper rolls for $1.

One employee said it has been tough operating through the pandemic, but it was worth it.

"It's definitely scary, because we are putting our lives at risk to get people what they want," Alexandra Katz, an employee, told News 3. "But we love what we do, we love our customers and we love Cogan's. It's what we have to do right now until things get back to normal."

Cogans' sister restaurant, Hank's Filling Station, located right next door, is also open. That restaurant specializes in barbecue dishes.

Both eateries are hiring for different positions right now, such as bartenders and cooks.

Cogans Pizza is located at 4311 Colley Avenue in Norfolk.
