An homage to education: Pharrell adds four days of workshops, 20 new artists to SITW

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Virginia Beach City Council held a meeting discussing Something in the Water updates.

Something in the Water added four more days to the annual music festival to host several workshops.

Pharrell says the workshops are "an homage to education."

The first workshop, "Earth & Us," will take place on April 20 focusing on conversations surrounding health and wellness of individuals and the planet. Producer Timbaland is set to discuss his life transformation with his personal trainer during this workshop.

April 21 workshop, "Innovation & Tech," will discuss important measures and problems with notable leaders in the tech industry as well as the Hampton Roads area.

A "Women's Day," workshop will take place on April 21 to focus on the issues and opportunities of women's interest. The workshop will feature a self-care summit and a dream job panel.

Thursday, April 23 will mark the "Food & Wine," workshop hosted by several notable chefs that Pharrell had the pleasure of meeting from all around the world along with restaurant collaborations.

The last workshop, taking place on April 24, will wrap up the workshops before the music fun.

"Career Day," will highlight the many different career choices in the 757 area with Pharrell and Jimmy Iovine hosting the conversation.

April 24 through April 26 will focus on the music aspect of Something in the Water. 20 more artist have been added to the lineup and will be announced later this week.
