NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - People across Hampton Roads are taking advantage of early voting satellite locations.

Thursday at City Center in Newport News, a lot of people came out to cast their ballots.

News 3 spoke with a few voters who told us the lines were moving pretty quickly.

"This is my first time. I was kind of worried. I said, 'Oh my goodness, the line's going to be ridiculous; it's going to be really hard,'" said Mercedez Nichols. "It was easy! Even for even seniors, anybody who have health issues, this is the safest place to go."

The satellite office is open every Monday and Wednesday from 11 a.m to 7 p.m. and every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m to 5 p.m.

Both offices at City Center and City Hall will be open on Saturday, October 24 and Saturday, October 31 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Halloween is the last day for early in-person voting in Virginia.

Earlier this week, the City of Virginia Beach opened four new satellite locations. Some people waited more than two hours in line to vote.
