Chief Meteorologist

David joined the WTKR News 3 First Warning Weather team as chief in February 2025.

David worked most recently as the owner and chief meteorologist of his own online weather service in Knoxville, Tenn., where he developed a highly successful weather app, which became the No. 2 weather app in the U.S. within its first month.

Prior to that, David led the weather team at WVLT-TV in Knoxville, achieving top viewership ratings in East Tennessee. His efforts there included directing the creation and application of advanced weather technology, significantly improving broadcast accuracy and quality. He has also had stops at WNCN in Raleigh N.C., WSAZ in Charleston, W.V., WHAM in Rochester, N.Y., and WTXF in Philadelphia.

David holds a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Radio, Television, and Motion Pictures from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is also a certified broadcast meteorologist with the American Meteorological Society and holds the NWA Seal of Approval.
