Tony Smith moved from Omaha, NE in October 2011 to join the Live VIPIR Weather Team.

Tony joined NewsChannel3 as a Weather Anchor/General Assignment Reporter. He got his start in television at WSVN in Miami, FL. After several years of enjoying the warm weather in South Florida he eventually moved to KPTM in the Heartland as a Video Journalist.

Tony’s passion for news and weather forecasting lured Tony back to the east coast. He is extremely excited to be a part of the Live VIPIR Weather Team to forecast in this dynamic marine environment and to explore all of Hampton Roads and North Carolina.

Born in Chicago, IL, He is a graduate of Barry University of Miami, Florida. Smith spends his free time enjoying great food and swimming. Tony has a love of adventure and is looking forward to traveling all across Hampton Roads and Northeastern North Carolina and eating the local cuisine. He looks forward to greeting viewers on The Local News and around town.
