    Virginia Beach, Va. – Two people and a pet were killed in an early morning mobile home fire in Virginia Beach.   • Student, driver suffer minor injuries after FedEx truck sideswipes school bus

    Virginia Beach, Va. – One student and a bus driver were taken to a hospital with minor injuries from broken glass after a FedEx truck sideswiped Virginia Beach School Bus #325 this morning. 16 students were on the bus at the time of the accident, which happened around 8:11am near the intersection of Damascus Trail and Holland Road.   • Centerville Turnpike Bridge closed through Sunday

    Chesapeake, Va. – A mechanical issue at the Centerville Turnpike Bridge requires its immediate closure this morning to allow crews to start repairs, according to Chesapeake city officials. The issue was discovered Friday morning when the bridge had to be hand-cranked for an opening, which can take upwards of 45 minutes.     UPDATE: On Monday night, police say someone shot a 30-year-old man to death. The victim has now been identified as Thunder Cloud Sundeen of the 900 block of Daphia Circle.  Police have also arrested and charged Christopher Griffin, 36, of the first block of Winston Avenue.
