  • Suffolk police cruiser involved in three-car crash

    Suffolk, Va – Suffolk police are investigating a three car crash which included a police cruiser. The crash happened at 4:38 at the intersection of Suburban Drive and Portsmouth Boulevard. A 71-year-old woman driving a Ford Taurus was transported to Sentara Norfolk General but her injuries are believed to be non-life threatening. A third woman was involved in the crash but suffered no injuries. The police officer was transported to the hospital as well and has already been treated and released.   • Crews respond to apartment fire in Norfolk

    Norfolk, Va – Norfolk Fire crews responded to an apartment fire on the 9600 block of Le Clair St. Firefighters were called in at 9:48 and arrived at the Fish Tails Apartments at 9:53. Crews reports smoke coming from the building. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to one unit. Two other units suffered smoke damage. Investigators on scene said the fire started because of something left on the stove. No injuries were reported.

  • Maury boys fall late; Princess Anne girls advance

    Two Hampton Roads high school basketball teams had a chance to take their team to the state championship Saturday. The Maury Commodores boys and Princess Anne Lady Cavaliers took to the Ted Constant Center to see if they could take a step closer to a state title. The Commodores had to come back from a 13 point deficit late in the game against Potomac and brought their lead down to 1 with 9.9 seconds left.     Update: Police say right now there are no signs of foul play.     Norfolk, Va. – Norfolk State University held its annual First View event Saturday at the L. Douglas Wilder Performing Arts Center. The open house-style program is a way for NSU to showcase what they can offer to prospective students. A performance by the Spartan Legion, NSU’s marching band, kicked things off.     Norfolk, Va. – The Old Dominion University Village Bookstore celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss Saturday with many young readers. The University Village Bookstore hosted its 7th annual Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration, Read Across The Village, from 10 a.m to noon.   • Brush fires extinguished in Suffolk

    Suffolk, Va. – Firefighters were called out to two separate brush fires on Route 58 Sunday afternoon. According to a city spokesperson, the call came in shortly after 4 p.m. The brush fires were about 50 yards apart on Holland Road/Route 58 near Longstreet Lane and Pioneer Road.   • Two-car crash in Norfolk off VA Beach Blvd, two people injured

    Norfolk, VA – A two car crash occurred on the corner of Virginia Beach Boulevard and Merrimac Avenue this evening. Two people were injured as a result of the crash, however the full extent of the injuries is still unknown at this time.
