The award-winning journalist and Hampton Roads native has returned to the region and now will be back on TV in her hometown. April got her start in news as a reporter for WTKR and has worked nationally as a correspondent for Inside Edition and BET. She has also appeared on network TV as a pop culture expert on HLN, MSNBC and FOX. April returned to Coastal Virginia to care for her aging parents and is an Assistant Professor at the Scripps Howard School of Journalism at Hampton University. A graduate of the University of Virginia, she lives in Chesapeake with her husband and two children.
