VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Coastal Edge celebrated their third annual Local Hero Recognition Day at Pembroke Square on Saturday.
Local singer BJ Griffin, who is currently a contestant on America's Got Talent, sang the national anthem and police, fire, EMS and sheriffs office personnel were honored in a proclamation from Virginia Beach Mayor Bobby Dyer for their efforts in the past year.
Those attending could see the emergency vehicles and equipment up close and watch a K9 demonstration, even meeting the mounted patrol and their horses!
The event had free food, t-shirts and Kids IDs from the Virginia Beach Sheriff's Office.
